“The ageing process is clearly modifiable, and we are increasingly understanding how to modify it.“
Dr. Enrique Steiger
The First Generation to Escape Ageing.
Those who make it through the next five years may be the first who never have to leave.
Until 2013, aging was considered an inevitable, uniform decline. Then López-Otín published “The Hallmarks of Aging” in Cell (2013), identifying nine cellular mechanisms that drive biological aging — expanded to twelve a decade later (Cell 2023). Yet each of them can be measured, slowed, and in some cases reversed.
The field is moving with extraordinary speed. Belsky’s epigenetic clock DunedinPACE (eLife 2022) made the pace of aging measurable in living people. Urolithin A, a trigger of mitophagy, improved mitochondrial function and counteracted the aging of immune cells (Nature Aging 2025). Cano Macip’s gene-therapy study on partial reprogramming (Cellular Reprogramming 2024) extended the remaining lifespan of very old mice by up to 109 percent.
The Driving Force Behind.
The science that defines the next decade. And the minds who shape it.
Dr. Enrique Steiger and Dr. Yael Adler have spent their careers reading the signs of ageing – in the operating room and in the skin, in the blood and in the gut microbiome. UtoLife® is where those decades of observation converge with the science to go deeper: a programme designed to identify and address age-related change before it becomes visible, reaching signals the body sends long before they surface.
The science is moving from slowing aging to reversing it. The next ten years will define what becomes possible for humans.
Our scientific collaborator, Prof. Dr. Onur Boyman, is one of the most eminent clinical immunologists worldwide. His research on inflammatory pathways active in diseases provides insight into biology of ageing and informs UtoLife®’s approaches.
The UtoLife® Genesis brings together the key systems that shape biological ageing – brain, body, metabolism and immune function – using advanced diagnostics and epigenetic insights to intervene at the stage where it matters most.
Our Programme: The UtoLife® Genesis.
One year. Ten interventions. A new way of ageing. For those who expect more.
The UtoLife® Genesis is our comprehensive twelve-month longevity protocol. It combines ten clinical interventions, each addressing a specific dimension of biological aging. Together, they form the most complete longevity programme available in Switzerland.
The Ten Pillars of Genesis.
Science on the cutting edge. Each pillar addresses one dimension of biological ageing. Each is grounded in research published in the world’s leading scientific journals. And each is designed to be measured, tracked, and refined over twelve months. Together, they form the most comprehensive longevity protocol available. Not only in Switzerland, but in the world.
The Founders.
United Expertise. One table. Your body.
Health Extension is not the work of one specialty. It is what becomes possible when multiple disciplines sit at the same table. At UtoLife®, they do.

Dr. Enrique Steiger
The plastic and cosmetic surgeon who no longer sees the cut to be the only answer. Four decades of surgical experience. One realisation: health is where beauty really begins. The visonary founder of UtoLife®
Forty years of plastic surgery. International training, humanitarian missions, then the founding of the Clinic Utoquai. One of the most respected addresses in Switzerland for aesthetic surgery.
Dr. Steiger could have stayed there. Instead, he sold it.
Because during surgery, something had become clear to him: beauty is not a question of the cut. Beauty is a question of health. And health does not begin on the outside, but on the inside.
UtoLife® is the answer to that realisation. A clinic that thinks of the human from both sides.
Dr. Yael Adler
President of the GSAAM (German Society of Anti-Aging Medicine). Specialist in dermatology and venerology. Qualifications in phlebology and nutritional medicine (DGEM). A clinical profile rarely found in this breadth.
Spiegel bestselling author. A following of over 130,000 people on Instagram. A voice heard in German television as naturally as in scientific publications.
Dr. Adler has achieved something almost no one in German-speaking dermatology has achieved before her. She has left the language of the specialist behind and found a language that everyone understands, without losing a single millimeter of precision.
Dr. Yael Adler has been in private practice since 2008. Since 2015, she has co-directed a private medical centre for dermatology, vein medicine and laser medicine in Berlin together with a colleague. For the past two and sincre 2024, she has also been running a specialised consultation in Zurich.
At UtoLife®, she brings what the clinic needs: the ability to see what the skin reveals about the entire body. And the ability to explain it in a way that everyone understands.

Until 2013, ageing was largely treated clinically as an inevitable decline. The publication of “The Hallmarks of Aging” by López-Otín et al. in Cell identified twelve cellular mechanisms driving biological ageing and demonstrated that each is measurable, potentially slowed, and in some cases reversible. The field has moved rapidly since. Belsky’s DunedinPACE epigenetic clock (eLife, 2022) made the current pace of ageing quantifiable in living individuals. Mitochondrial regeneration via Urolithin A (Nature Aging, 2026) demonstrated structural cellular restoration. The Genesis is designed to intervene across these mechanisms in an integrated and continuously measured programme.
Unlike acute inflammation, which serves a protective purpose, inflammaging represents a persistent state of immune activation that can gradually damage tissues and impair normal physiological function. Research suggests that it contributes to many of the biological processes now considered hallmarks of ageing, including cellular senescence, mitochondrial dysfunction, and stem-cell exhaustion.
Inflammaging is a central focus of modern longevity research and one of the reasons UtoLife® places such strong emphasis on immune health. Professor Onur Boyman, one of the leading clinical immunologists worldwide, has spent decades investigating immune regulation, cytokine biology, and inflammatory mechanisms. His scientific perspective informs how we evaluate inflammatory burden within the Genesis and how immune ageing is integrated into our broader longevity strategy.
As people age, immune cell populations change significantly. Certain protective immune functions decline, while inflammatory activity often increases. This contributes to the phenomenon known as inflammaging and helps explain why older individuals are more vulnerable to infection, cancer, autoimmunity, and chronic inflammatory disease.
Immunosenescence has emerged as one of the most important areas of longevity research because the immune system influences nearly every aspect of human health. UtoLife® places particular emphasis on this field through the involvement of Professor Onur Boyman, one of the leading researchers in human immunology and inflammatory disease. His work helps shape our understanding of how immune ageing interacts with biological ageing and long-term healthspan.
Cellular senescence was formalised as a hallmark of ageing by López-Otín et al. (Cell, 2013, updated 2023). While senescence serves a short-term protective function, long-term accumulation drives tissue ageing through the SASP – a pro-inflammatory secretome including IL-6, IL-8, and matrix metalloproteinases that alter the surrounding tissue microenvironment. Research at the Mayo Clinic (Kirkland, van Deursen) demonstrated that selective senolytic clearance extends healthspan in animal models. Clinical translation is ongoing. At UtoLife®, reducing senescent cell burden through lifestyle, nutritional, and where individually indicated pharmacological approaches is integrated into the Genesis inflammation and detoxification strategy.
Chronic mTORC1 activation with age is associated with impaired autophagy, accumulation of damaged proteins and organelles, and accelerated cellular ageing. The finding that rapamycin extended lifespan in aged mice – published by Harrison et al. (Nature, 2009) as part of the NIA Interventions Testing Program – directly implicated mTORC1 inhibition as a longevity mechanism, subsequently confirmed across multiple species. At UtoLife®, mTOR modulation is addressed primarily through exercise protocols, dietary timing, and caloric regulation. Where clinically indicated and individually evaluated, pharmacological strategies are considered.
The longevity interest in NAD+ stems from its role in sirtuin-mediated regulation of mitochondrial biogenesis, inflammation, and DNA damage repair. Precursor supplementation with NMN or NR has demonstrated NAD+ restoration in aged animal models. Human clinical data on long-term outcomes are in early phases; the mechanistic evidence is stronger than the clinical outcome evidence. At UtoLife®, NAD+ status is assessed as part of the metabolic and mitochondrial evaluation in Genesis Pillar 10 (Uto Vitality Boost). Where clinically indicated, it is addressed through targeted nutritional and supplementation strategies. We are transparent about the distinction between mechanistic plausibility and demonstrated clinical benefit.
The NIA Interventions Testing Program found lifespan extension in genetically heterogeneous aged mice even when initiated late in life (Harrison et al., Nature, 2009). Mannick et al. (Science Translational Medicine, 2014) demonstrated improved immune function at low doses in older humans, including enhanced influenza vaccine responses. The PEARL trial is among several ongoing prospective randomised studies generating human longevity data.
The evidence base continues to develop. As with many interventions at the frontier of longevity medicine, the translation from animal models to clinical practice in humans remains an active area of research.
The clinical scope covers testosterone replacement therapy, oestrogen and progesterone management, and thyroid normalisation. The longevity-relevant effects extend beyond symptom management to preservation of lean muscle mass, bone mineral density, insulin sensitivity, and cardiovascular and cognitive function. Peptides represent a heterogeneous category with variable evidence across compounds. Each is evaluated individually and clinically justified before use. We distinguish clearly between compounds with meaningful human evidence and those with preclinical or theoretical support only.
A patient who reduces their GrimAge acceleration, improves inflammatory and metabolic health markers, and normalises fasting insulin has undergone independently verifiable physiological change. We are transparent about the epistemological limits of individualised clinical programmes: without a randomised control arm, we cannot claim the evidentiary weight of a controlled trial, and we do not. Expectancy effects are real and clinically significant – acknowledging this is part of scientific rigour, not a concession. Our commitment is to measure what matters, interpret findings honestly, and refine our clinical protocols as the evidence base continues to develop.
UtoLife® operates within the discipline of longevity medicine, applying mechanistic insights from geroscience to the clinical management of biological ageing. The programme integrates preventive internal medicine, immunology, dermatology, and nutritional medicine to address the upstream drivers of healthspan decline: chronic systemic inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic dysregulation, hormonal change, and the accumulation of senescent cells. Unlike conventional healthcare, which addresses pathology once established, UtoLife® intervenes at the level of biological process – measurably, continuously, and across the full year.
Dr. Enrique Steiger, founder of Clinic Utoquai in Zurich, built UtoLife® as the answer to a question that arose repeatedly in clinical practice: patients were not asking how to look younger – they were asking how to remain biologically younger, healthier, and more capable for longer. UtoLife® was designed to address that question with the same rigour that medicine applies to disease – through structured assessment, continuous oversight, and evidence-informed intervention.
Dr. Enrique Steiger – Founder of Clinic Utoquai in Zurich and one of Switzerland’s most experienced physicians at the intersection of surgical precision and internal health. With four decades of clinical practice spanning plastic surgery, international medical work, and aesthetic medicine, Dr. Steiger arrived at a conviction that now defines UtoLife®: lasting physical health begins biologically. His role at UtoLife® is not operative. He leads the clinical programme with the diagnostic rigour of a surgeon applied to the full complexity of systemic ageing.
Dr. Yael Adler – Specialist in dermatology and venerology, with additional qualifications in phlebology and nutritional medicine (DGEM). A Spiegel bestselling author and widely recognised medical voice in German-language television and peer-reviewed literature. Since 2008, she has led her own medical practice, combining classical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology with a strong focus on preventive and longevity medicine. She is President of the GSAAM (German Society of Anti-Aging Medicine). At UtoLife®, Dr. Adler contributes a clinical perspective that most longevity programmes lack entirely: she assesses the skin not as a cosmetic surface but as a diagnostic organ – reading changes in barrier function, vascularisation, and tissue quality as indicators of systemic inflammatory, hormonal, metabolic and nutritional status.
The Uto Science Measurement baseline – thousands of biomarkers assessed at baseline and after intervention – exceeds what comparable providers currently offer in Switzerland. Prof. Dr. Boyman’s research on inflammation, published in the very best scientific journals, including Nature, Science und Immunity, directly informs the programme’s approach to inflammaging and immune decline. Dr. Adler’s integration of dermatology, phlebology (vein diseases), and nutritional medicine (DGEM) adds a diagnostic dimension that most longevity protocols omit. And unlike episodic longevity services, the UtoLife® Genesis assigns a single physician who holds clinical responsibility for your case across the full year.
UtoLife®’s collaborator Prof. Dr. Boyman’s research on immune regulation and inflammation – published in Nature, Science, and Immunity – provides the scientific foundation on which UtoLife’s approach to immune ageing is built.
Dr. Adler’s clinical scope – spanning dermatology, venerology, phlebology, and nutritional medicine (DGEM) – allows the skin to be assessed as a metabolic and immunological organ. Changes in barrier function, collagen metabolism, and vascular patterns are interpreted as systemic clinical data. Her clinical approach also includes advanced bloodwork, gut microbiome testing, and the assessment of metabolic, nutritional, and hormonal health. This is not multidisciplinary positioning; it is the clinical consequence of taking the biology seriously.
His credentials are unambiguous in this field: Founder and medical director of SCAIA since 2025; Director of the Department of Immunology at the University Hospital Zurich from 2014 until 2024; Full Professor of Immunology at the UZH since 2020; over 22,000 scientific citations; more than 120 publications, including in Nature, Science, Cell and Immunity. His foundational work on biased interleukin-2 signalling opend and shaped the field of precision cytokine immunotherapy. At UtoLife®, the implication is direct: the programme’s understanding of immune ageing is informed by one of the leading scientists.
Her qualifications span dermatology, venerology, phlebology, and nutritional medicine (DGEM) – a breadth that is clinically rare and directly relevant to longevity medicine. The dermatological evaluation is integrated into the Genesis baseline on admission and tracked longitudinally throughout the year. In addition to skin cancer screening and the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions, she evaluates blood markers, hormonal status, metabolic health, immune function, micronutrient status, risk markers, and the gut microbiome, and also supports patients with hair loss and hair health concerns. Findings from dermatological assessment, including changes in skin barrier integrity and vascular patterning, are interpreted in the context of inflammatory burden, hormonal status, and metabolic function – not as aesthetic observations, but as clinical data.
At UtoLife, Dr. Steiger holds clinical responsibility for the programme as a whole. He also leads the aesthetic and surgical dimension – available where targeted intervention can restore what biological ageing had visibly diminished, and reinforce what the Genesis has already achieved internally. This is not corrective surgery in the conventional sense. It is restoration: applied where the outside has not yet caught up with the inside, or where time had already taken something before the programme began.
The founding insight that drives UtoLife® – that the gap between how a person feels biologically and how they present physically is a medical question with a medical answer – remains Dr. Steiger’s.
The dermatological assessment and its longitudinal tracking is led by Dr. Adler. The scientific framework governing the programme’s approach to immune health and inflammation is shaped by Prof. Dr. Boyman. Where your clinical picture warrants additional specialist input – cardiology, endocrinology, sports medicine, neurology, or oncology – your physician coordinates referrals and integrates those findings. Patients are not rotated between clinicians at any point in the programme.
For established interventions, we proceed with appropriate clinical confidence. For interventions in the emerging or speculative tier, we present the evidence landscape transparently, offer a reasoned risk-benefit assessment as it currently stands, and support the patient in reaching an informed position. UtoLife® has direct access to the current research frontier in immunology and inflammation, helping ensure that our clinical positions reflect the actual state of the science. We do not resolve uncertainty by overstating what the evidence supports, in either direction.
Physicians are poorly positioned to serve as their own patients. The tendency to normalise what one has lived with for years is a well-documented perceptual bias, not a character failing. The UtoLife® Genesis offers a structured ten-pillar framework developed specifically for longevity medicine; scientific input from Prof. Dr. Boyman and Dr. Enrique Steiger across immune health and inflammation; dermatological integration under Dr. Adler; and a dedicated clinician who follows your case with no agenda other than your clinical progress. For physician-patients, the clinical value most frequently lies in the identification of what has been managed around rather than resolved.
Our role is not to replace your broader medical care but to provide the intensive, longevity-focused clinical layer of the Genesis alongside it. For patients without an established GP in Switzerland, we are pleased to recommend suitable colleagues in Zurich.
Your data is not disclosed to third parties without explicit written consent, is not commercially exploited in any form, and is used solely for the delivery of your clinical care. Full terms and your rights as a data subject are presented at the outset of the programme.
The programme addresses the internal drivers of ageing: inflammation, hormonal decline, metabolic dysfunction, body composition. As these improve, the body recovers capacities that had diminished over time. Where skin, tissue, or body contour carry the visible record of years before the programme began, or have not yet caught up with the internal change underway, Dr. Steiger’s four decades of surgical precision are available to restore what ageing had taken – and to let the biological progress already achieved be seen on the outside.
For decades, skin ageing was viewed primarily as an aesthetic concern. Modern research increasingly suggests that many of the mechanisms driving visible ageing – including chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, collagen degradation, cellular senescence, and mitochondrial dysfunction – overlap with those involved in systemic ageing.
At UtoLife®, visible ageing and biological ageing are therefore viewed as related processes rather than separate disciplines. This perspective is reflected in the involvement of Dr Yael Adler, one of the best-known dermatologists in the German-speaking world, whose expertise helps bridge the gap between skin health, preventive medicine, and healthy ageing.
Many processes associated with ageing become visible in the skin long before they are apparent elsewhere. Alterations in collagen structure, microvascular function, inflammatory activity, regenerative capacity, and pigmentation can all provide insight into broader biological changes occurring throughout the body.
For this reason, dermatology plays an important role within the UtoLife® philosophy. Dr Yael Adler’s expertise contributes to our understanding of how skin health, inflammation, environmental exposure, and biological ageing interact across the lifespan. Rather than treating skin ageing in isolation, we regard it as one part of a wider physiological picture.
The programme opens with the Uto Science Measurement: a baseline assessment of thousands of biomarkers conducted in a single day, including epigenetic age, inflammatory indices, metabolic and hormonal status, cognitive and physical performance, and a full dermatological evaluation. This diagnostic depth exceeds what any comparable longevity provider in Switzerland currently offers. Each of the ten pillars is grounded in peer-reviewed research, measured at defined milestones, and refined continuously over the year in response to your biological trajectory. UtoLife® takes an interdisciplinary approach and consults with numerous specialist colleagues.
The ten pillars are: Uto Science Measurement – Uto Inflammation Reverse – Uto Detox Protocol – Uto Sleep Enhancement – Uto Brain Recovery – Uto Weight Intervention – Uto Hormone Balance – Uto Heart Protection – Uto Cancer Shield – Uto Vitality Boost.
This encompasses a full haematological and biochemical panel, epigenetic age assessment, body composition analysis, cardiovascular evaluation at rest and under load, spirometry, standardised cognitive testing, gait and balance assessment, and a dermatological evaluation of skin biology and barrier function. It also includes a thorough clinical interview covering your medical history, prior records, functional goals, and concerns. The day is unhurried by design. You leave with a clear understanding of the programme’s opening phase and direct access to your physician.
The opening weeks are the most intensive, with frequent in-person reviews as the baseline picture is assembled and the initial protocol is established. As the programme progresses, the rhythm adapts to your biological trajectory. Between formal consultations, you have direct access to your physician by secure channel for clinical questions. Interim biomarker assessments are conducted at defined programme milestones to allow timely protocol adjustment.
The longitudinal trajectory of a biomarker is frequently more diagnostically informative than any single cross-sectional value. A consistently rising inflammatory marker carries fundamentally different clinical weight than the same number presented without context. Where records are incomplete, the Uto Science Measurement establishes a comprehensive baseline. Proceeding without historical data is a clinical disadvantage we would not accept on a patient’s behalf.
Should circumstances change materially after the programme has begun, the terms governing early withdrawal are set out in writing before the start date. Our agreements are structured to be fair to the patient. The precise terms are discussed at the consultation stage.
The range of possible explanations is broad: an adverse response to a specific intervention, an underlying condition not apparent at baseline, normal biological variability, or a measurement artefact. Each warrants a different response, and we work through them systematically. Unfavourable findings are not exceptions to be explained away – they are often the most diagnostically important data points in the programme. Where specialist referral or fundamental protocol revision is indicated, both are pursued without hesitation.
A complete absence of measurable change after twelve months would be more than unusual in a programme built around continuous monitoring and repeated clinical review. By that stage at UtoLife®, multiple assessments have already informed adjustments to the protocol. Where meaningful improvement is ultimately not achieved, we treat that outcome as a clinical finding that deserves explanation. Possible reasons may include an underlying condition not apparent at baseline, a limited response to specific interventions, or the current limits of available measurement tools. Our role is to evaluate those possibilities rigorously and communicate the results honestly.
Fees are discussed with full transparency at the initial consultation, once we have a clear understanding of what your programme requires. We will ensure complete clarity before any decision is made.
A referral from a GP or treating specialist is clinically welcome – it provides advance context. It is not a prerequisite.
The programme combines defined on-site residential periods – particularly for the intensive opening phase and milestone assessments – with structured remote follow-up between visits. Scheduling is discussed at the initial consultation and adapted to your location and clinical needs. We work with patients from across Switzerland and internationally. The prerequisite is not geographic proximity but commitment to the programme.
Supplementary insurers (Zusatzversicherung) vary considerably. Certain components – diagnostic investigations that identify a specific clinical condition, or pharmacological management of a documented hormonal deficit – may be eligible depending on your policy and clinical circumstances. We recommend a direct conversation with your insurer before the consultation. We do not make representations on behalf of third-party payers, and we do not structure clinical documentation for insurance optimisation purposes.
The interventions with the greatest long-term impact on healthspan yield substantially greater returns when initiated in the mid-thirties than in the mid-fifties. A decade of well-managed insulin sensitivity, optimised sleep architecture, high cardiovascular fitness, and controlled inflammatory burden produces a fundamentally different biological baseline than the same measures introduced after dysfunction is established. For younger patients, the Genesis is weighted toward long-range prevention, risk factor optimisation, and the establishment of measurable baselines against which future change can be tracked with precision.
